Our coastal oasis
Coastal Alchemist Corks & Cocktails is a craft bar and lounge with a focus in providing high quality wines and cocktails. Our passion for bespoke products and an elevated guest experience shines through our seasonally curated menus and wine list. Being locals ourselves we wanted to design an upscale oasis to be a destination for those who share our love of great wine and drinks.
About Us
The location
Established in summer of 2020, under the watchful eye of Kate Mitsch, Coastal Wine Ogunquit expertly navigated the effects of a global pandemic to deliver a fantastic wine list with great service. Coastal Alchemist will build on the foundations Kate laid for us and evolve with the same level of service and beyond.
Our bar program focuses on product quality as showcased in our hand selected wine list and continues through our seasonal cocktail and food menus.
Our Staff
Scott Vogel- Owner
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY Scottie grew up spending his summers in Ogunquit. In that time he worked for multiple local businesses including Amore Breakfast, Black sushi, That Place and The Front Porch. After taking some time working in the tech sector, he returned to Ogunquit and purchased The Front Porch. Scottie further cemented his roots in Ogunquit with his opening of Crew OGT in 2021. As a local, Scottie has helped to build a lasting family style community in Ogunquit through his businesses and his various philanthropic ventures. His hope to continue that legacy with Coastal Alchemist and create a space for the Ogunquit community to enjoy and imbibe. Scott lives in Ogunquit with his Pup, Henry.
Mathew Bushey- General Manager
Originally from Massachusetts, Mat became familiar with Ogunquit through his grandparents who have lived here since the 1970s. After spending many family vacations here he chose to make the move up to the area in 2013. Working his way up in the local hospitality scene, Mat has pushed to make the place he calls home a truly beautiful place by the sea. Following in his parents footsteps, he dove into the restaurant world; helping to open two restaurants along the way. Now going into his 12th year in the industry, Mat’s passion for the service industry hasn’t dimmed and is reflected in the curated menus he has helped to build. Mat got married in 2023 and lives with his wonderful wife Kori, and their pup Baxter.
